| From Pocket PC to ioWeb, immediately and securely
ioGlobal has launched a new service for anyone who collects information away from the office and needs it to be rapidly ‘databased’ and made available to colleagues.
The new ioMobile service integrates the very successful “Pocket PC Creations” software from Creativity Corp with ioWeb, ioGlobal’s secure web data portal.
Simply enter your data into easy-to-use forms, take pictures and GPS coordinates, and press “Send” to submit the information over the mobile phone network (or any internet connection) to our secure database.
The data are immediately processed, and reports are generated and made available to nominated personnel on ioWeb. If you’ve used a GPS, your data points are also available immediately on Google Earth or in your preferred GIS system.
Who's using it?
ioGlobal has implemented streamlined data collection systems for exploration and mining companies, environmental departments, and has recently implemented the ioMobile service for a government radiation monitoring agency.
During 2005 the Swan Catchment Council ( www.swancatchmentcouncil.org) engaged ioGlobal to implement a Pilot Automotive Industry Audit System, with cooperation from a group of local government authorities. The pilot system is currently being used to undertake environmental audits of approximately 400 businesses in the automotive industry.
"It's an excellent example of the ioMobile system in action, with huge benefits expected through time saving and standardisation.
This initiative has the potential to be used across a range of surveys and audits and has attracted a lot of interest from Local Governments with State Government Agencies also indicating an interest in the system. An attraction of this system is ioGlobal maintaining the data base as the host provider, with immediate secure web access."

| In-kind Analytical Research Fund for BSc(Hons), MSc and PhD Students
The ioStipend is a grant available to students conducting exploration-related geochemical studies at a recognised educational institution, and takes the form of analytical services provided by Acme Laboratories in Vancouver.
The first recipient of the ioStipend for 2006 is Ahmad Reza Mokhtari, a PhD student studying at the University of New South Wales, Australia, under the supervision of David Cohen and Simon Gatehouse. Ahmed’s research topic is “Geochemical Dispersion Through Thick Transported Regolith: Development of Exploration Methods”. The stipend will supply Ahmed with high quality, base line ICP-MS data through Acme Laboratories with which to benchmark a variety of partial digests.
